What this covers

  • The 15-apps/week split across the 4 tiers (1 Dream / 4 Strong / 8 Volume / 2 Backup)
  • The day-of-week effect: Tuesday-Thursday US-morning apply windows beat Sunday-night bursts
  • Burst-apply vs trickle-apply: when each wins
  • The 5/14-day follow-up that meaningfully lifts response rate without burning the contact

Why this matters for Indian devs going remote

Indian devs often apply on Sunday-evenings in giant bursts — by the time a US recruiter opens their inbox Monday morning, the application is buried under 80 newer ones. Cadence isn't about working harder; it's about the timing inside the same hours that makes the recruiter actually see the application. Small changes, large yield.

Outline

The 15-apps/week split

TODO — 1 Dream (with custom Loom), 4 Strong (custom cover), 8 Volume (template), 2 Backup (low-touch).

The day-of-week effect

TODO — apply Tue-Thu IST evening = Tue-Thu US morning; avoid weekends; the "send-later" tool.

Burst vs trickle

TODO — burst when a YC batch lands or a wave of layoffs creates inbound roles; trickle in steady-state.

The 5/14-day follow-up

TODO — 5-day check-in (1 line + a new artifact link), 14-day final (1 line, polite); then archive.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Sunday-night batch applications hitting Monday morning at position 80
  • Never following up — half the response lift is in the follow-up
  • Sending 3 follow-ups in 7 days

Templates / examples

TODO — a weekly application calendar template, Tuesday-Thursday timing rule card, and 2 follow-up message templates.
